Vada Pav Recipe

Ingredients

For Vada (Potato Filling):

  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste

For Batter:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste

For Assembling:

  • 6 pav buns
  • Dry garlic chutney (optional)
  • Green chutney (optional)
  • Tamarind chutney (optional)
  • Graminn Organik Oil for frying

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Vada Filling

  1. Heat Graminn Organik oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add curry leaves, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté for a minute.
  3. Mix in turmeric and salt. Add mashed potatoes and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Let the mixture cool and shape into small balls.

Step 2: Make the Batter

  1. In a bowl, mix gram flour, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and baking soda.
  2. Gradually add water to make a smooth, thick batter.

Step 3: Fry the Vadas

  1. Heat Graminn Organik oil in a deep pan.
  2. Dip potato balls into the batter, coat evenly, and fry until golden and crisp. Drain excess oil.

Step 4: Assemble the Vada Pav

  1. Slice pav buns and lightly toast if desired.
  2. Spread dry garlic chutney, green chutney, or tamarind chutney inside the buns.
  3. Place a fried vada inside each bun and press lightly.

Step 5: Serve

Serve hot with fried green chilies or extra chutney on the side. Enjoy!
